Ingredients:
1 or 2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 yellow onion, chopped
1/2 lb. ground beef
7 slices of bacon
1 cup (250 mL) cream cheese
3/4 cup (190 mL) grated Monterrey Jack cheese
3/4 cup (190 mL) shredded cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Diced pickles for garnish
Chopped parsley
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a cast iron pan or ovenproof dish well.
In a large saucepan, add bacon and cook. Remove and drain with paper towels.
Add onions and sauté in bacon fat for 4 to 5 minutes. Add ground beef and cook.
Drain and transfer to a plate.
Crumble the bacon.
Add bacon, ground beef, onions, cream cheese, 1/2 cup Monterey cheese, 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper to a large bowl.
Mix well.
Transfer to an ovenproof dish. Add remaining cheese on top.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
Garnish with pickles and fresh parsley.
Serve with chips, nachos or raw vegetables!
