Ingredients:
°1 1/4 c + 2 tsp sugar
°1 cup self-rising flour *See notes for an easy-to-make homemade version
°1 cup whole milk, see notes
°Half melted butter
°2 cups fresh or frozen blackberries, washed and dried.
°Vanilla ice cream for serve
* Directions
Heat oven 350 degrees.
Blend 1 cup sugar with 1 cup of flour in  bowl.
Add milk, then melted butter. Mix until well blended.
Pour to bottom of  grease 9″ * 9″ baking dish.
Distribute the berries all over the top. (It will sink more in as it bakes.) If desired, you can sprinkle more berries on top once you start baking and keep them close to the top. About 30 minutes in.
Sprinkle half a cup of sugar on top, reserving two tablespoons for later use.
Bake for 50 minutes, then remove from the oven and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of sugar.
Bake for 10 minutes, or until top is golden brown.
Serve directly (with ice cream)!
