Orange Cream Cheese Loaf Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz cream cheese (1 package), softened
  • ½ cup butter (1 stick), softened
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 2 large  eggs
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Topping: ¼ cup fresh orange juice

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a standard loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add the sugar and eggs, beating until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
  4. Stir in the orange zest, ensuring it’s evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the loaf to cool for about 15 minutes in the pan. Then, pour the orange juice over the top, allowing it to absorb into the loaf before slicing.

Enjoy!
