This  Tater Tot  Casserole is an all-time favorite whenever I prepare it, and it continues to be a crowd-pleaser. This delightful dish combines savory breakfast sausage, vibrant vegetables, rich cheese, and perfectly seasoned tater tots. The recipe is incredibly simple to follow, hearty, and irresistibly delicious. Additionally, it is gluten-free, making it an excellent choice for those with gluten sensitivities.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds hot breakfast sausage
  • 1 (30-32 ounces) bag frozen tater tots
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, add the sausage, and cook until it becomes crumbly and browned. Drain any excess grease.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned sausage, both types of cheese, and tater tots. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  6. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the tater tot mixture in the baking dish and gently stir to combine.
  8. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately one hour, or until fully cooked.
  9. Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
